What does Christmas mean to you ?

Have we lost the true meaning of Christmas?
It used to be a family affair with some presents at home. Today, it is a mass public campaign, like the Obama rally, for all things and with the crunch upon us we are all being encouraged to spend more as retailer suffer their worst sales.
Do we all have a moral obligation to live within our means? Should all rules be broken to save the global downturn to get everyone holding cash to spend it.

I am spending wisely only on the bare necessities,
