IRAN a Change in the Air

Many were critical of Obamas’ visit in Cairo, his speech was aimed to the moderate Muslim and was heard by many young people. He spoke of the need to recognize Palestine existence as a state while at the same time, was critical to the Israel’s continued settlement camp in the Gaza strip as not being helpful and sustainable towards peaceful co-existence with Palestine. He was also critical of the need for the Arab world to confront extreme views especially the rhetoric on the existence of Israel. He spoke of peace and the future without weapons of mass destruction. Obamas’ speech was carefully delivered to rebuild the trust lost during the Bush years.
THe effect of the speech are already seeming to work, who caould have belived that the extremist Mohadinjed would be struggling to get vote in Iran. The indications are that he could well loss this vote as many young moderate Muslims and students are tired of the way he manages Irans’ foreign policy. I am sure Fox news had a field day and were heavily critical of the apologist Obama and why he need to speak directly to Muslims. IT was for this very reason that he did to make wave in the minds of the Muslim world and to change perceptions of the West as a bunch of power hungry hawk bent on keeping everyone and every thing in check.
SO One nil OBAMA NIL to the TALEBAN (1-0) OBAMA

The Pope says Condoms not the solution in Africa visit

•March 19, 2009 • Leave a Comment

The Poe messange was clear to taday in Younde, in his first papal visit to Africa, he said that the solution to AIDS is not condom as it only make it worse.
On the outset, i want to defend his right to hold such a view. I don’t how ever think is right to discourage the promotion of condoms as a safe option for consenting adults. It is both appropriate to stop STD and unwanted pregnancy. The Pope, is simply misguided on what sexual practises young people have, they need to protect themselves from any number of viruses, like Chlamydia that causes infitility.
Not everyone will agree with the method to stop young people having sex but let us a least give them a choice.

Why a bump in the head could mean serious injury

•March 19, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Natasha Richardsons death has made clear that we all need to take care when we have a bump to the head. Acquired brain injury, may not show up in early tests but, can develop over a period of a few hours or days. what is trajic is that Natasha, signed a consent form saying thath she was ok.
I take not with all consent form as they absolves blame from the doctors and the Hospital.
We learn not take risk with our health, a few hours said in the intensive care clinic is not worth years of possible brain damage or even death.

Canadians Celebrates Obama’s First Visit

•February 21, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I was surprised to see Canadian Africans show their enthusiasm for Obama’s first visit, people waited from 4am in the morning not knowing that they would catch a glimpse of the first African American President, they just wanted to be part of the celebrating; and were, indeed, rewarded by not just the now famous wave of Obama, but he went on a walk about in for gifts and took pictures with a lucky few.

When Obama, met Prime Minister Steven Harper, first thoughts was that they were cordial and mutual at least they got on. Having seen the two leaders give there first state conference together I was struck, that Obama, was not his usual upbeat, up-tempo self, that could be to do with the constant interpretation that had to be made from French as Harper spoke, or I could be that Harper‘s men also run a very tight ship. Prime Minister Harper was on the ball on all questions; his transition from all questions was very good indeed much like how Obama usually expected to perform. Obama looked unsettled at times, intermitted with his usual fluency and delivery, but really it was the first time that we had to acknowledge that Obama as “brilliant “as he is, is going to have an off day; where he looks ordinary, that is not to say that, Prime Minister Harper performance, overshadowed Obama, but that for once Obama did not have to impress the media world in his eloquence and just settled for an ordinary performance.

But I sure that Obama’s off days will be far and few between and a lackluster performance like that will not be expected by us and his team of advisers. As for Harper, he has just raised the bar for Canada to be more involved in world affairs and not remain phlegmatic, while America yet again curve out a new world order for it self. I will certainly, be look at to Harper and Canada to stand up to the depots in Africa and to aid In development of clean technology

What does Christmas mean to you ?

Have we lost the true meaning of Christmas?
It used to be a family affair with some presents at home. Today, it is a mass public campaign, like the Obama rally, for all things and with the crunch upon us we are all being encouraged to spend more as retailer suffer their worst sales.
Do we all have a moral obligation to live within our means? Should all rules be broken to save the global downturn to get everyone holding cash to spend it.

I am spending wisely only on the bare necessities,

Harold Pinter

Harold Pinter has sadly passed on this week. We should acknowledge his achievement as a voice of critical reason and unflinching political commentary. He raised a public outcry on the justification of the Iraq war, he questioned the West (America and Britain in particular) had the right to hold democratic ideals, while at the same time flouting them, firstly by going against the UN and showing complete contempt for international Law by setting up Guantanamo Bay. At the same time he saw the irony that, the two powers wanted people to be put on indictments, in the International criminal courts (ICC); for crimes against humanity, paradoxically, neither American nor British citizen could be put in this same court. Pinter saw these discrepancies and voiced them articulately in full flow at press conferences. He wasn’t an armchair critic, on the contrary, he demonstrated against injustices. He had paranoid mistrust for the State and all its institutions, questioned the validity of most politicians nut most of all he saw the many contradictions which lie us below the surface of human behavior, that we all share, whether from China or Kenyan or American. As a playwright, he explored reality, and the psychological state of memories, most remarkably he never saw the very contradictions that he himself exhibited. Harold

Pinter was truly remarkable man, a substantial man, who understood the delicate condition of human nature.
We will truly miss him.

EURO catches the POUND

I’m not a eurosceptic but i do however, accept the view that Brussels needs to be more accountable to its citizens. With the Euro and and the pound reaching parity should the Brit at least consider join the Eurozone ?
I mean what are they so afraid of France, Germany and Spain are hold out ok. On the Economical front, most many man are dumoing the pound and are stocking up on the Euro, forecast show that the Euro will continue to get stronger.
I’m freelance at the moment, and if work turn up in the Euro zone i will definetly take the offer.
Oh darm i have to get the language book out again. I started with French then dis some German and a little Spanish, My best was probably French, but it has been a wgile now.
How many are contemplating learning a language now!!
The future is the Euro. I chose to embrace it and turn it to my advantage. Many will question if the Brit will ever join, for me they will eventually; in the next five to seven year, i can but my money on it.

Is this the end or a new beginning

•December 19, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Notwithstanding, the doom and gloom of the credit crunch and the loss of my contractual job. I feel very optimistic about what the future holds. I will not allow myself to join the collective sadness. There is a sense that the equilibrium has been shifted, I have to do a self analysis.
1. My happiness with the direction
2. Define my purpose again
3. Set new goals
4. Not to show fear
5. Be optimistic

A new reality as been created, we all have to live in this new equilibrium, perhaps, more caution and judicious decision making from the Goverment of the world; especialy America ,will soften the blow.

I hope so
